Kathy has been recognized both inside and outside of KPMG. In 2000, Crain's Chicago Business selected her as one of the top "40 under 40" executives. In 2003, Kathy was named Woman CPA of the Year by the American Woman's Society of Certified Public Accountants. She received an Honorable Mention in the "100 Most Influential Women in Chicago" also from Crain's Chicago Business and over the years, has been a recipient of honors awarded by Athena International, DiversityInc, Illinois CPA Society, and the Anti-Defamation League. Kathy's commitment to diversity and inclusion has been visible both internally and externally. She founded the KPMG Women's Advisory Board, with the vision to improve the retention and advancement of women in the firm and serves as the current co-chair of the Diversity Advisory Board, advancing the Chairman's vision on diversity. Kathy also serves as a Board Member for the Adler Planetarium, Loras College, Metropolitan Planning Council and Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation. Jean Chatzky
Jean is the author of seven books, including her newest, Not Your Parents' Money Book: Making, Saving, and Spending Your Own Money, and recent release, Money 911: Your Most Pressing Money Questions Answered, Your Money Emergencies Solved, a New York Times best- seller. Her book The Difference: How Anyone Can Prosper in Even the Toughest Times (Crown Business), received the 2009 Books for a Better Life award in the Personal Finance category. She is also the author of Make Money, Not Excuses (Wall Street Journal and New York Times best seller) and Pay It Down: From Debt to Wealth on $10 A Day (New York Times and Business Week best seller). The latter was featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show's successful Debt Diet series. Using the proven principles in Pay it Down, Jean recently launched two online programs to help people get out of debt (available at jeanchatzky.com/debtdiet) and manage their credit score (available at jeanchatzky.com/scorebuilder). Jean is a sought-after motivational speaker, as well as a respected consultant to small businesses and company executives. She also regularly shares her advice and opinions as a guest on popular television shows, including Oprah, The View, Larry King Live, and Morning Joe. In 2009, the Consumer Federation of America awarded Jean the Betty Furness Consumer Media Service Award for her nearly two decades of pioneering personal finance education. She has also received the Clarion Award for magazine columns from the Association of Woman in Communications and a Gracie Award from American Women in Radio and Television, Inc. The Chicago Tribune named Jean one of the country's best magazine columnists. In addition to her professional work, Jean serves on the board of the Children's Heart Foundation, and the National Foundation for Credit Counseling. She lends her support and expertise to women's services groups and is on the board of the Nora Magid Mentorship prize at the University of Pennsylvania, which helps journalism students get a head-start in the field.
